GUN CLUB MEETS.
The annual meeting of the Canterbury Gun Dog Club was held last night, when Mr L. A. Shand presided. Mr Shand introduced Major HunterBlair, and said members of the club were singularly fortunate that Major ITunter-Blair should take an active interest in the club’s welfare. The annual report showed that the total membership was approximately 50. Trophies for perpetual competition had been given by Messrs Bishop and Company and J. R. M’Kenzie. The balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory position. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. On the motion of the chairman, votes of thanks were accorded to Mr A. E. Seeker, the secretary, for his splendid work in the interests of the club, to the judges, and to those who had given prizes. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Sir R. Heaton Rhodes; president, Mr John Montgomery; vicepresidents, Major ITunter-Blair, Messrs 11. Ayres and A. Dawson; honorary secretary, Mr A. E. Seeker; committee, Messrs W. R. M. Irwin, D. M’Rae, C.
