WORK AVAILABLE.
Concession to Relief Strikers. Per Press .*-.?sociation. GISBORNE, February 17. In connection with the Gisborne relief workers’ strike the Unemployment Board has agreed to waive the stand-down clause affecting men who have been off the register for a fortnight or more, local officers having been advised that work will be available next week for the re-registered men. In the ordinary course the men who had been on strike would have had to stand down for a fortnight but the board’s concession will eliminate this penalty. During the present week approximately seventy strikers have applied for re-registration.
