TUITION IN BAKING.
Correspondence Scheme for Juniors. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, February 16. At the final session of the New Zealand Master Bakers’ Conference keen support was given to a suggestion by the Kelvin Industrial Chemical Laboratories, Wellington, that a scheme should be established for the purpos# of teaching bakehouse juniors by correspondence the fundamental of the science of modem baking practice. Mention was made of the Presa announcement that the Auckland bakers had decided to fix certain price* for bread. The Auckland delegate! strenuously denied that the announcement came officially from the Auckland Association. It was decided not to discuss flour and bread prices, but to refer the matter to the local associations for discussion. It was resolved that there should be no rebates of fees this year. It was resolved to recommend to the new executive that the federation should endeavour to affiliate with the Manufacturers’ Association for the purpose of trade protection. The concluding business was a resolution recommending the executive to give particular attention to organising during the year.
