London has several statues of Jeffrey Hudson, the accomplished dwarf who was presented to Henrietta Maria, Queen of Charles 1., in a pie. A little tiger of a man, he fought as captain of Cavalie^ - horse in the Civil War; shot his man dead in a duel; travelled for the Queen on all sorts of foreign errands; was captured by Frenchmen and Turks; and even became implicated in a plot. He was only 18 inches high!
