Picnics at Two Harbour Bays. The Christchurch Technical College girls held their annual picnic at Corsair Bay yesterday in fine, warm weather During the afternoon many of thfe 45( girls took part in short harbour excur sions. The water was tepid and th bathing was thoroughly enjoyed. About 150 children and parents frorr the Victory Memorial School, Christ church, held their annual picnic at Dia mond Harbour yesterday. The party arrived at Lyttelton by the 10 a.m train from Christchurch and was con veyed across the harbour by the Lyttelton ferry launches. The day was warm but pleasant under the shelter of the pine trees. Seamen’s Institute. An enjoyable whist drive, under the auspices of the Lyttelton Guild, was held in the Seamen’s Institute on Thursday evening. At the conclusion of play the prizes won were distributed by Mrs Maclaverty. Supper was afterwards served, and the men present expressed their thanks for the pleasant evening’s entertainment. Cricket. A match will be played at Officers Point on Sunday afternoon between the Lyttelton Miniature Rifle Cricket Club and a Railway team. The players selected to represent the L.M.R.C.C. are as follows:—T. Swain, J. Garner, R. Miller, H. Dyne, H. Wilson, W. Foubister, S. Wells, E. Brook, A. Gosney, W. Thompson and S. Dobbie; emergency, R. St John.
