ORPHANAGE WORK.
Activities of Methodist Homes. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 16. At the Methodist Conference the Orphanage reports showed that a total of about 200 children are being cared for in the three Dominion homes of the Church, and it was stated that the prevalent economic stress was reflected in diminished contributions from circuits during the last two or three years. In one case the year had closed with a bank overdraft of £6OO. The Christchurch new building scheme, involving an expenditure of about £20,000, had received encouraging financial support, and it was expected that the new building would be opened near the end of the present year. The Supernumerary Fund account of the Church showed an income for the past year of £9BOO, with expenditure of £8920. Aecumulatd funds now totalled nearly £150,000.
