TWO NEW CRUISERS.
16 Over-age Warships in British Fleet. LONDON, February 6. The new cruisers Neptune and Orion are about to join the fleet, raising the cruiser total to 55, but the Coventry and Curocoa have reached the age limit of 16 years, increasing the over-age total to 16. There are at present nine cruisers building or heres to the figure of 50 cruisers laid down by Mr Alexander when he was First Lord of the Admiralty in 1930, no further craft can be passed into service until some older vessels have been scrapped, reducing the tonnage to the London Treaty figure of 339,000.
