DANCE AT SHIRLEY.

Musical Programme Given by Guests. In honour of Miss Vonnie Wilson, a party and dance was given recently at her home in Shirley. The house was gay with coloured lights, streamers, balloons, and Chinese lanterns. Part of the evening was devoted to a musical piogramme, to which a number of the guests contributed. Orchestral items were given by Misses Doris Beck, Lily Robertson, Elaine Wilson, Messrs F. Nicholls, C. Ensor, A. Law (violins), Miss Eileen Beck and Mr G. B. Wilson Ccelli), and Mr Ralph Lilly (flute). Mr David M’Gill entertained the party with songs, Miss Eileen Beck played a ’cello solo, and a piano solo was given by Mr Norman Stallard. Solos on the violin were played by Miss Lily Robertson, L.T.C.L., and violin duets were given by Miss Doris Beck, L.T.C.L., and Mr Alexander Law. Tap dancing duos by Messrs Ronald Barclay and Jeff Kettley, and monologues by Mrs D. Jones, completed an enjoyable programme. Dancing was also a part of the evening’s entertainment. Mrs D. Jones and Mr David M’Gill won the Monte Carlo dance, and Miss Verna Askew and Mr Jeff Beetley, and monologues by Mrs statue dance. Special prizes for “ prompt replies ” were presented to Mrs J.
