SCOTTISH CEILIDH.

There was a large and enthusiastic gathering of members and friends at the Scottish Society’s Rooms, Manchester Street, on Thursday evening. The Chief, Mr G. M. Telfer, presided, and with him on the platform were Chieftains R. M. Speirs and G. Campbell. In his opening remarks, the Chief made reference to the death of Councillor James Wilson. A tribute was paid by the audience while the pipe major, Mr J. Al’Lachlan, played a lament.
