Four Maids Attend) a Kaiapoi Bride, j HILLS—RICE. Decorated with pink and t/lue flowers, St Paul’s Presbyterian, Church, Kaiapoi, was the scene of the wedding recently of Nancy, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Rice, Kaiapoi, and Owen, only son of Mr and MJrs G. Hills, Rangiora. / The bride, who was givojn away by her father, wore a becoming frock of magnolia satin cut on simple lines. The front panel formed a high j point above the waistline into which th/e bodice was gathered.. The panel continued to another point in the skirt;, which was tight to the knees and fully-flared to the ankles. A similar panel at the back fell into a slight, train. Long cape sleeves fitted tightly to the wrist. Her filmy lace embrdidered veil was held in place by a singl/3 strand of palest pink orange blossom with small clusters over the ears. The marriage was celebrated recently at St/Peter’s Church, Woolston, of Margaret Doris, youngest daughter of Mrs Pag£y and the late Mr C. Pagey, Wintonu Southland, and Leonard Roberts fifth son of Mrs Clarke and the late Mi? G. M. Clarke, Milbrook, Styx. The Rjev L. M’Master officiated and the oijganist was Mrs Sutherland. The, bride, who was given away by T. H. Stapleton, wore a charming ivory/ satin beaute frock cut on severely classical lines. Her beautiful silk embroidered tulle veil was caught to the front of her head with a circlet of orange blossom and then fell free in soft folds into a long train. She carried 1 a shower bouquet with trails of bell lilies, pale pink roses and cream carnations. Miss Lila Dale attended the bride wearing an attractive frock ofj coral-pink, plainly cut, with very full puff sleeves and silk mittens. Her pjretty wide-brimmed hat of pink crinoline straw was banded with pink and lemon velvet and finished with lemon flowers. She carried a bouquet of lemon abutilons and pink roses. Mr Percy M’Kay was best man. As the bride was leaving the church little Marjorie Verron, niece of the bridegroom, presented her with a silver horseshoe. The reception was held afterwards at M’Donald Hall. Mrs T. H. Stapleton received the guests wearing a frock of navy crepe athol relieved in cream lace, and a red straw hat. She carried a bouquet of shaded roses. An attractive frock of black silk marocain relieved with white and a smart black straw hat was worn by the bridegroom’s mother, who carried a bouquet of mauve scabios and pink carnations. For travelling the bride had chosen a chocolate celanese frock with a hat to tone. •
