Stakes for Easter Circuit Total £4134. Prize money aggregating £4134 will be distributed on the West Coast Easter circuit. The Westport Jockey Club opens the campaign with its Cup’ fixture set down for Saturday and Monday, March 24 and 26. Stakes total £l2O. The Westport Cup, of £l2O, one mile and a quarter, Morlev Handicap, of £lls, one mile, Scanlon Handicap and Colvin Handicap, each of £9O and seven furlongs, and the Karamea and Farewell Handicaps, each of £BO, six furlongs and eighty yards, are the chief items in the programme. The Westport Club contributes £1 per horse towards the cost of motor conveyance or shipping freight. The Kumara Racing Club will hold its annual meeting on Easter Monday. The chief event is the Goldfields Handicap. of £lO5, one mile and a quarter. The Westland Racing Club at Hokitika comes in on Wednesday, April 4. The Autumn Handicap, of £IOO, one mile and a quarter, is the principal race. On Friday, April 6. and Saturday, April 7, the Greymonth Jockey Club will race at Omoto. The chief events are the Hannan Memorial Handicap, of £l2O. one mile and a quarter, and President’s Handicap, of £llO, one mile. On each of these six racing days two trotting events are included in the programme. Entries for Westport close on March 6. for Kumara on . March 19, for Westland on March 23 and for Grey mouth on March 24.
