Possibility of Perry as Professional. NEW YORK, February 15. Bill O’Brien, W. T. Tilden’s partner in the professional tennis promotion, made a fiat statement to-night that F. J. Perry, the English champion, will turn professional next autumn if England loses the international team trophy. NO COMMENT FROM PERRY. PERTH, February 16. When Perry was shown the statement from America that he was turning professional, he said he was not inclined to comment until he saw further particulars. PERTH TOURNAMENT. PERTH, February 16. ' The temperature reached 100 degrees to-day. The feature of the day in the tennis tournament was the match in which the Victorian junior, Purcell, pressed G. P. Hughes (England.) The latter’s experience told and he won 8-6, 6-2. Moon beat F. H. D. Wilde (England) 7-5, 6-1. A. Quist beat H. G. N. Lee (England) 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. F. J. Perry and Wilde (England) beat Purcell and Ewin 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.
