YACHTING.
Sailing and Power Boat Club’s Race. Twenty-two boats competed in the Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Club’s combined class race at Redcliffs to-day. The course was a short one, boats starting near the Shag Rock arid proceeding thence to a buoy near the bar, and returning to the starting line, going four times round in all. In a very light north-east wind the boats could make little headway against the incoming tide, and shortly after the start there appeared to be little prospect of any boat completing the course. After three-quarters of an hour the race was abandoned.
