DOCTORS SHOT.

Were Found Working Among Socialists. LONDON, February 15. Vienna messages state that the grim fact that the hangman’s rope has been added to the howitzers and the bayonets with w r hich the Government is cowing the Socialists has caused the latter to announce that for every Socialist executed twenty captured soldiers would be killed. A party of doctors and male nurses wrere discovered among the Socialists. Six doctors were shot. It was reported that the Government troops accidentally shelled a hospital inflicting casualties. This so incensed the doctors and the nurses that they joined the Socialists. Five members of the Schutzbund hanged themselves from beams in the Sandleithen tenement at Ottakring, rather than surrender. The Government has been compelled to throw all its reserves into* action but the Schutzbund is defeated. Salzburg, in the Tyrol, is quiet. Martial law has been extended to Burgenland. The Government has declared all trades unions illegal and dissolved thirty-six Social Democratic societies. It may confiscate the property of those convicted of rioting. A majority of the newspapers have been suspended.
