The Vienna correspondent of the “ Manchester Guardian ” declares that the battle of Floridadorf will go down in proletariat history as commemorating their last stand in the face of Fascism and the accumulated bitterness of the realisation that they must lose everything after fifteen years of the finest social reforms in Europe.
AUSTRIA’S OWN AFFAIR
PRAGUE, February 14. The Government has resigned. The National Democrats disapproved of the devaluation policy and have formed a new Cabinet under Mons. J. Malypetr, former Premier, and including Dr Edouard Benes. Czecho-Slovakia, like, Italy, regards the struggle as Austria’s own affair, not warranting intervention.
