NEW PROPELLER.
Freighter Makes Economical and Fast Trip. THREE STREAMLINED BLADES. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Co right. (Received February' 16, noon.) SYDNEY, February 16. A new type of propeller fitted to the Shaw, Savill and Albion freighter Kumara, which arrived in Sydney from Cardiff direct, is said to be responsible for her fast and economical voyage. The new propellers, which are of an unusual design, are said to have been planned for use on the giant Cunarder, which is under construction on the Clyde. The propellers consist of three blades, which are specially streamlined in order to give the maximum of driving force with the minimum of effort.
