ADDINGTON LODGE.
The Loyal Addington Lodge. M.U.. T.0.0.F.. No. 6544. met recently, the N.G. (Brother G. F. Dawson) presiding. A letter was received from the Christchurch Friendly Societies’ Cards Association extending an invitation for & delegate from the lodge to attend the annual meeting. Brother F. W. Larcombe, P.G., was deputed to attend. The doctors’ reports were received and sick pay amounting to £l7 6s Sd was passed. A funeral levy of £49 was passed for payment. Other amounts passed for payment were £2 3s Bd. A maternity claim was passed for payment for £6. Receipts were £26 6s lOd. It was decided to accept the State Fire Insurance agency and the matter wai referred to the trustees for one to be responsible to the lodge. A letter was received from the District Secretary, North Canterbury District, stating that the purple degree would be given in conjunction with the Past Grands’ Lodge No. 1 on February 27. at 8 p.m., in Oddfellows* Chambers. The following delegates were chosen to represent the lodge at the annual district conference on March 16: Brothers A. Gow, P.G., J. M’Guinness. P.G., H. W. GourJay. P.P.G.M., and W. G. Wigglesworth, P.G. It was decided to nominate Brother A. Gow, P.G., for the position of Deputy District Grand Master and for a seat on the Management Committee. It was decided to nominate Brothers J. M’Guinness and W. G. Wigglesworth. P.G.’e, for seats on the Management Committee. It was decided that a bowls tournament should be held during the next few months and the arrangements were left in the hands of Brothers J. A. Clarke. P.P.G.M., and F. W. Larcombe, P.G. Brother A. Gow. P.G.. congratulated Brother D. M. Hill. P.G.. on his recent successes in the flower shows Brother H. W. Gourlay, P.P.G.M.. reported on the activities of the M.U Sports Club and appealed for more players.
