SIDE-SHOW BY-LAWS.

Proposals Discussed by A. and P. Association. The General Committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association met yesterday afternoon. the president (Mr C. G. Jarman) in the chair. The Royal Agricultural Society wrote advising that the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act came into operation on December 6, and that it had been suggested that the Royal Agricultural Society should draw up a set of model by-laws governing the side-shows. If the Canterbury Association desired to support the bv-laws it would be necessary that formal authority should be given for its name to be attached to the Gazette notice. After the position had been explained to the meeting by the secretary (Mr M. E. Lynns) an amendment that the Royal Society be asked to supplv the association with a copy of the proposed by-laws before action was taken was carried. The Wheat Research Institute wrote

thanking the committee for the excellent arrangements made in connection with the competition for his Excellency the Governor-General's wheat prizes. The letter was received.
