FETE AT SPREYDON.

The grand fete to bte held in the 1 Spreydon Domain, Domain Terrace, on Saturday next, will be the culmination of a well-organised effort on the part of t be tennis--, bowling and croquet clubs to raise funds for the enlargement and improvement of pavilion accommodation for the growing memberships. The j Christchurch City Council has given every possible assistance to the willing band of workers who have left no stone unturned to lay the foundation for a successful fete, which will be opened by the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.) at 2.15 p.m., after the* arrival of a procession of decorated vehicles, which will commence from the Addington railway station at 1.30 p.m. Tli'ere will be stalls of every description, and plenty of games and amusements for old and young. Competitors in the Highland dancing section will have a wide selection of national dances to choose from. Thf sports will mostly be confined to children’s events, but a novelty will be a race between m*en from prominent trotting stables pulling sulkies. In the evening there will be dancing in the Coronation Hall and cards in the bowling pavilion.
