LAKE COLERIDGE LEVEL.

After having remained fairly steady at approximately the nominal overflow level of 1672 ft for several weeks Lake Coleridge, which supplies the water power for the generation of electricity for Canterbury and North Otago, showed a slight decrease when the weekly reading was taken to-day. Last week the level of the lake was 1672.025 ft, and this morning it was 1671.5 ft. On the corresponding date last vear the level was 1667 ft, and past experience has shown that little variation occurs until April, when the demand for electricity for lighting and heating becomes heavier.
