Injuries which proved fatal were received by David Alexander Dakers, a married man, resident of Manaia, when a lorry overturned on the Manaia Road about A o’clock this morning. Two others were admitted to hospital. Thelma Jones, of Manaia. with a fractured pelvis, and William Stuart, aged 17. with a scalp wound. A number of others escaped injury. The passengers were returning in the lorry from a party at Kapuni Hall. The three injured persons were admitted to hospital at 5.30 am and Dakers succumbed to internal haemorrhage four hours later.
