German Gas Warfare Expert Was Expelled by Nazis. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. _ BASLE, February 2. The death has occurred of Professor laber, inventor of the process extracting synthetic nitrogen from the air, nd Nobel Prize winner in 1919. Though head of the Gas Warfare Department during the war, Professor laber was expelled from Germany in fax- ast, as a Jew. He incurred the mnity of the Nazis because he expressed detestation of warfare.
