CRICKET TOUR OF N.Z.
Good Second Team Chosen for Trip. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, February 2. Discussing the itinerary of the Australian cricket team in New Zealand, Mr R. Oxlade, chairman of the Board of Control, states that there will be no actual tests in New Zealand, because the Australian first team is going to England, but a reallv good second team is touring New Zealand. It will have one representative match, at Dunedin. 1 here is considerable indignation in Brisbane regarding the omission of Ron Oxenham from the Australian team, and the fact that no Queensland representative was chosen for the English tour. The “ Courier ” and the “ Mail ” have arranged for a testimonial to Oxenham, to which they are inviting public subscriptions, in recognition of his services to Australian cricket. Oxenham is reported to be extremely disappointed at his non-inclrsion. lie admits that overtures have been made to him by the Lancashire League, which he is not at present entertaining.
