MISUSE OF TENTS.
Damage to P.W.D. Property at Culverden. A complaint concerning the misuse of the two tents placed at Culverden bv the Public Works Department for the convenience of men going to and from the Lewis Pass relief camp has been received by the department. It is reported that three men who recently used the tents wrenched the legs off two of the stretchers provided and lfeft the tents in a filthy condition, paper, rags, old socks and tobacco tins being left lying about. The constable at Culverden has written to the foreman of the Lewis Pass camp pointing out that in future he will not allow any man into the tents without a signed order, and if he has further cause to complain he will request that the tents be removed.
