(Received January 3, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, January 2. An Australian named Dunn, from a two yards’ start, won his heat in the first round of the Powderhall 130 yards handicap. Dunn was beaten by a yard in the second round by M’Phillips, whom he was giving 5-Iyds start. The time was 122 sec. M’Farlane, last year’s winner, won the final from scratch. M’Phillips was second, being beaten by a foot in 12 11-32 sec, practically four yards inside evens. The feat of winning the event twice in succession is unprecedented.
