The auxiliary yacht Linnet, in charge of K. Patten, went to the rescue, but . was forestalled by the launch Onawe, which towed the cutter back to Lyttelton. The occupants of the cutter were not in danger at any time. Social Evening. The St John’s Social Club paid a surprise visit to the Manse, Sumner Road on Friday evening.
