Worried by Flies.

Dear Sir,—ln reply to your correspondent “ Worried,” may I mention that there are a number of liquid preparations on the market, which, when sprayed in a room entirely eradicate flies (for the time being). Any grocer can supply them. During a number of years’ residence in Sydney, where mosquitoes were most troublesome, the only thing we found efficacious was eucalyptus. We used to touch our foreheads, hands and ankles before retiring and our ankles after the morning bath, ar,ci were never bitten whilst we had some or it about us. I think flies would also dislike the odour. If doors and windows are left open in other parts of the house the draught will drive them out. I • trust this will be some help to '* Worried.”—l am, etc., E.C.
