Dangerous Practice.
“ TT IS a highly dangerous practice and measures should be taken to prevent it,” said a resident of New Plymouth recently, when relating that some schoolboys had lately been purchasing sodium chlorate bv the pennyworth and mixing it with other material to make an explosive. The other day a man working in his garden heard a series of explosions in an adjacent vacant section. On making investigations he found a number of boys detonating a sodium chlorate mixture under conditions that might easily have resulted in one of the youthful operators losing a finger, or being burned by the explosive mixture.
