RENTS INADEQUATE. WELLINGTON, December 8. Adopting a report of the referee (Mr E. Page, S.M.) Mr Justice Mac- ! Gregor to-day gave reserved judgment in the Merry case, awarding Mrs Merry £1059 15s 2d with interest from .Tune 30 and costs ! amounting to £615, witnesses expenses, and disbursements against the Public Trustee. The action was taken on the ground that rentals from certain properties were inadequate. • His Honour fixed the remuneration of the referee at £lO5. also to be paid by defendant. DAMAGES AWARDED. "• WELLINGTON, December 8. In a reserved judgment to-day. Mr . Justice Blair awarded. £904 damages in favour of the Wellington College Board of Governors in an action against John Duthie and Co., and the Duthie Steel Casement Co., his ; Honour holding that there had been j a breach of contract through delay in the supply of windows for the new classroom block. Plaintiffs alleged that the job was held up and that the board had to pay over £9OO to the building contractor under the terms of the contract*
