GARDEN PARTY.

St Martin’s Church, Lincoln Road. The annual garden party of St Martin’s Church, Lincoln Road, held recently at the residence of Mr and Mrs D. Xeave, proved a great success. Under ideal conditions and in beautiful surroundings parishioners and their friends were able to meet and enjoy the various attractions arranged for their benefit. The Salvation Army Band rendered enjoyable music and also played for the Maypole Dance and for the children’s fancy dress parade. Mr and Mrs Nairn and Miss Neave, of Okeover, judged the fancy costumes. The. garden party was officially opened by Mrs W. S. Bean, who was introduced by the president of the guild. Mrs Dryden. Following were the stalls and stallholders:—Work, Mesdames A. E. Ward, G. Gregson. R. Smith. D. Smith and E. Holmes: produce, Mesdames H. E. Street, F. A. Cocks. W. Yeatman and M’Quarrie; sweets, Mesdames C. Andrew, and C. F. Brown; shilling, St Martin’s Girls’ Club; book, Mrs J. I. Smail and Miss M. Tomkfnson' cake, Mesdames N. Merritt, T. W. Rose, T. Brady and Johnston: afternoon tea, Mesdames M. Sloan, A. Cox. Peacock. L. Hollings and Oliff: fruit, salad, Mesdames Simon, A. Humm, Bell and Miss Eileen Bell; ice cream. Misses Eileen Sloan and M. Bowden; art gallery. Misses Margaret Smail and Matheson; clock golf, side shows and pony rides, the vestry.
