W. E. Simes and Co., estate agents, 144, Hereford Street, report having sold, following on the auction, on account of Mr E. L. H. Brown, his property situate 23, Stoke Street, Sumner, comprising a residence of six rooms with all conveniences together with 30 perches of land to Mr Parsons. MAHAXIPAWA OOLDFIELDS, LTD. The Mahakipawa mine manager reported for November as follows: South end of mine—The south drive off No. 12 east crosscut was advanced a total of 55ft south. From 4 7ft south to the face the bottom rock rose quickly and it also appeared to be rising west of the drive. The wash at the same time contained a layer of hard dark cement in which we have found no gold values. W T e have therefore turned to the east at 30ft south No. 3 2 east crosscut and hove advanced 35ft in this direction. Fair grade prospects were followed for the first 20ft, the wash being very stoney; the last 15ft has been poor grade. No. 11 east crosscut—This face has been extended 38ft since resumption here, making a total of 248 ft east of the south drive. The lower portion of the bottom rock we have been following is now turning to the south and the fine gold values found here may have sonve connection with the coarser gold found in the south drive off No. 12 east crosscut. Blocking off No. I 1 north drive has been continued in poor to fair grade wash. North end of mine—Blocking off the prospecting drive at G6ft north of the , shaft crosscut has been discontinued. A blocking strip at 186 ft north of shaft crosscut in the neighbourhood of No. 1 west crosscut has been-advanced 20ft and continues to show prospects of very grad*c wash. Return from 574 cubic yards of wash sent to the sluice boxes during the month was 79 ounces melted gold.
