CHRISTMAS PARTY.

Mrs J. Dryden Hall Entertains. WOMEN’S DIVISION MEMBERS. Mrs J. Dryden Hall, president of the Christchurch branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, held a delightful Christmas party yesterday afternoon in the Cosy Corner of the V.M.C.A. Iler guests were the members of the Christchurch branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union and the president and secretary of each of the branches belonging to the North Canterbury Provincial Executive. For the entertainment of those present an enjoyable programme was arranged by Mrs A. E. G. Lyttle. Miss Edith Hart gave two humorous recitations, “Grandmama” and “Run, Woman, Run,” and Mrs H. G. Denham, the secretary of the Christchurch branch, proved her versatility by singing “Harvest” and “The Second Minuet.” Mrs Lyttle herself sang two songs, “In a Beauteous Garden” and a lullaby. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Hugh Hobbs. Several competitions were also held and were the cause of much hilarity, the winners being Mrs Leonard Cook, Miss Edith Hart and Miss Violet M’Connel (Halswell). Mrs Denham explained various matters of policy lately adopted by the Christchurch branch, and paid a tribute, especially..on behalf of the Christchurch branch, to Mrs Hall for her many hours of wo'ri{ in connection with the newly-inaugurated Housekeeper Scheme: The guests were:—Mrs Colin M’lntosh. president of the North Canterbury Provincial executive, -and Miss Burns (Darfield), Mrs W. Mrs Pearson and Miss Hall (Hororata), Mrs Nutt, Miss Thompson and Mrs B. Coop (Motukarara), Mrs Henderson and Miss Ftecken (Tai Tapu). Mrs Uerritt van A sell and Miss V. M’Connel (fJalswell), Mrs Gilbert and Miss Aldridge (Dunsaiirlel), Mrs Crawford and Miss C. Crawford (Yaldhurst), Mesdanues U. C.
