LINDBERGH ACROSS.

Flight From Gambia to Brazil. WIFE IS RADIO OPERATOR. United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received December 7, 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 6. Sixteen hours after their take-off from Bathurst (Gambia), Colonel Charles Lindbergh and his wife landed at Xatal (Bf&zil), having flown 1875 miles across the South Atlantic Ocean. Mrs Anne Lindbergh, who acted as radio operator, sent messages ever}' fifteen minutes and so kept constantly in touch with civilisation. They cruised at an average altitude of 1200 feet, and in the early stages of the flight were helped by a ten-knot wind and perfect weather. At 2.15 a.m. to-day, however, Mrs Lindbergh reported that 630 miles out (one-third of the way) they were meeting with constant squalls and overcast skies. A calm sea, however, prevailed with the wind at zero at 1000 feet. At one p.m. they passed Fernando de Xoronha, and the next report recorded their landing.
