MARSHLAND PARTY.

Children Spend Happy Afternoon. On Saturday afternoon a very enjoyable children's party was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Hale, Bottle Lake Reserve, and the children also played games in the beautiful grounds of Mr Armstrong’s residence. The party was organised by Mrs J. Delamain, Mrs Hale and members of th Marshland Plunket Society Committee, and each child was asked to bring a toy for distribution to poor children in the country. A pleasing number of gifts was received, including a box of toys from Mrs Crkeroft Wilson (Cashmere), for whom three hearty cheers were given. The children were served with tea, jellies and soft drinks, and all enjoyed the games and races. Treasure hunts were won by Henry Jacob and Ray Myers, and the winners of the races were Frank and Basil Kiesanowski, Gordon Berry, lan Watson, June Stackwood, Joan Palmer, June Watson, Doreen Marks, Joan Palmer and Beth Andrews, Frank and Alex, Kiesanowski. The children were all given balloons by Mrs Hall. Mrs Delamain expressed thanks to Mr and Mrs Hall, Mr Armstrong, Mrs Cracroft Wilson and all who had helped to make the outing so enjoyable, and hearty cheers were given.
