CAMP AT WAINUI.
Y.M.C.A. Arrangements for
Christmas
The big holiday camp for boys, conducted by the boys’ division of the Y.M.C.A., provides from two to five weeks’ healthy vacation in ideal surroundings. The camp is at Wainui, on Akaroa Harbour. The actual site is surrounded by beautiful bush, and through it run lovely clear streams. Only five minutes’ walk is required to reach a fine sandy beach, safe for swimming and boating. A senior is always in charge when these pastimes are engaged in. Sanitary conditions are good, and a skilled lady cook sees to it that only good food is supplied; in fact, the boys’ health is fully safeguarded. Many thousands of boys go into Y.M.C.A. summer camps each year, and there have been built up a fine camp tradition and programme which have for their object the development of boy character. At Wainui the whole camp life will help every boy to grow in physical strength, in intellectual interests, in social and spiritual appreciation. The cost of reaching the camp and of staying there is small, and it is little wonder that there is always a big list of applications for enrolment from Y.M.C.A. boys and others, the latter being asked to pay a small registration fee.
