FARMER’S WILL.
Widow’s Claim Upheld by Court. Application for relief under the will of the late Henry Herbert ''Campion, retired farmer, of Christchurch, was made by his widow, Mabel Claire Campion, in the Supreme Court before Mr Justice Ostler to-day. Similar applications were also made by Maud Matilda Brandon and Charles Herbert Campion, daughter and son respectively of the testator. Mr Thomas appeared for the widow, Mr Malley for the daughter and Mr Brassington for the son. The applications were opposed by the executors, Cyril Henry Campion and George Fisher. Mr Donnelly appeared for Campion and Mr Lascelles for Fisher. An order was made providing the widow with a house property at Whiteleigh Avenue and with furniture, and also providing that a mortgage of £750 should be raised on a Halswell property bequeathed to Cyril Henry Campion to enable a grant of £225 to be made to Maud Matilda Brandon and one of £SOO to Charles Herbert Campion. Applicants were allowed costs out of the estate. Equal Division. A further application under the Family Protection Act was heard in which June Bradley, married woman, New Brighton, sought relief under the will of the late Jessie Ann Henderson, widow, of New Brighton. Defendants were the Public Trustee, as executor in the will, Alexander Henderson, unemployed, of Christchurch, and the St Anne’s Guild. Dr Haslam appeared for plaintiff, Mr Cuthbert for the Public Trustee, Mr Brown for Alexander Henderson, and Mr A. C. Cottrell for the St Anne’s Guild. After hearing counsel briefly, his Honor directed that the estate should be divided equally between June Bradley and Alexander Henderson, all parties being allowed costs out of the estate.
