Cyclist on His Way to Dunedin. In an attempt to break the unpaced cycling record of 14hr 53min set by W. Oldman in 1911 for the 238-mile journey between Christchurch and Dunedin, a Christchurch rider, L. G. Fleming, left the city at 4.5 ajn. to-day, and when last reported was going well. A message from Geraldine received in Christchurch at 10 a.m. stated that Fleming reached that town in 4 hours 48 minutes’ riding time, and had then encountered a strong head wind.
