TRADE WITH BELGIUM.

It is practically certain that legislation .embodying a trade treaty with Belgium will be introduced in the House this session. Preliminary negotiations for a treaty were conducted by the Hon R. Masters, Minister of Industries and Commerce, who paid a visit to Belgium after the World Economic Conference. Since his return to New Zealand. Mr Masters has been in close consultation with Air Coates on the matter, and there have been further negotiations with the Belgian Government. It is hoped that the negotiations will be concluded in the near future, and that legislation ratifying the agreement will be introduced before Parliament rises for the Christmas holidays.
