GOLD MINING.

Company Reports and Returns. The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Gold Mining Co., Ltd.: Grapd Junction, No. 6 Level—Royal south-east prospecting crosscut: Lode at 250 ft in and at 70ft west a crosscut was driven south-east and at 10ft penetrated quartz for 3ft, the south wall not being seen. This is apparently the Royal lode. Kuala Kampar Dredga. Tn the first half of November the Kuala Kampar dredge put through 65.000 cubic yards for a return of 20 tons of tin oxide. Mount Coolon Production. Mount Coolon Gold Mines, N.L., production for the fortnight ended November 14 compares with that of the previous period as follows: _ , Oct. 31. Nov. 14. Ore treated, tons .... 2837 2832 Gold, fine, oz 1307 1907 Yield, dwt, per ton .... 0.2 14.14 Pawn of Hope. Dawn of Hope (Thames).—Driving off the rise hillward on the flat leader was

continued. The average width of the leader vt-liere we are working is about Sin, and shows colours and blotches 01 Golconda Mines. Golconda Mines (Thames).—During the week stoping was continued on the branch reef south. The ore broken out shows colours of gold. Close to the shaft we are stoping the main reef, which showed nice colours of gold. At this point we have formed an intermed.ate level to work the hangingwall ree*. and we are driving on this reef east and west. The reef is a well defined body of ore, and values should be met with at any time. It was necessary to form this intermediate level as the reefs are diverging from one another and could not be taken out with one stope. In the next stope it appears as if the branch reef and the main reef will pass through each other. It is hard to explain this position on paper as there is an aggregation of quartz and it is difficult to distinguish one formation from the other. At the 70ft level we have resumed driving on the No 2 branch reef south. There is a decided Improvement in the country, it being much milder, and the reef appears to be opening out. The course of this reef Is towards the old Cambria shaft.

Talisman Dubbo Gold Mines, Xrtd. The Talisman Dubbo Gold Mines, Ltd., mine manager’s report for the week end-

ed! November 18 stated that the drive at No. 1 Talisman level has been extended seven feet. The reef, which is 3ft wide and is good value, occasionally shows fine gold and sulphicfe streaks. The centre stope is a formation of quartz and mullock six feet wide, the quartz being of fair value. The south end stope consists of three feet of quartz of good value.
