MUSIC RECITAL.
Pupils of Miss J. L. Black. The pupils of Miss J. L. Black, Mus. Bac.. gave a recital last evening at the home of Mr and Airs Edwin Hamilton, Papanui Road. A number of parents and friends had been invited, and for their entertainment an interesting programme had been arranged. The items were:—Piano duets, “The Minstrel’s Aubade ” <l,eon d’Ourville), “ Hunting Song,” Misses Pat Hamer and Black; “Valse. Lente ” CMerikanto) and “Sylvia” (Leo Delibes). Miss Lallie Patterson; “Waltz in P Flat” (Chopin), Miss Ngaire Green; piano duets, “Valse Impromptu” (Leon d’Ourville)' and “ The Smithy,” Misses Lallie Patterson and Black: “Old Acquaintances (S. Rsipoff) and “ Tarantelle ” (P. Zllcher), Mi.#! Pat Hamer; "Agitato” (Mendelssohn), Miss Ngaire Green; “Romance in F Sharp ” (Schumann) and “ Gavotte in D ” (Ball'our Gardiner), Miss Mary Hamilton; “Rhapsodic in B Minor” (Brahms) anrl “Study in E Flat” (Seeling). Miss Ruth Sharp. L.A.8.; songs, “Child Voices” (Granville Bantock), “O Peaceful Night” (Kdward German) and “ Ring o’ Roses ” (Thomas Dunhill), Girls’ High School Singing Class; “Concerto in G Minor” (Mendelssohn), Misses Ruth Sharp and Mary Hamilton, with orchestral part on second piano by Miss Black.
