OVERSEAS ATHLETES.
Ban Imposed by Cambridge University. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 21, 12.12 p.m.) LONDON, November 20. .With the object of affording English undergraduates a fair chance to win their blues. Cambridge' has barred American and other overseas athletes from competing in the inter-varsity sports. This will not apply to overseas students taking the full course at Cambridge, but is directed against Ameri-can-trained athletes who do a year at Cambridge solely to get. a blue. Overseas students who have completed a year or more at another university are not eligible to represent Cambridge at the inter-varsity sports unless they are under nineteen y'ears of age. The rule will be enforced in 1934. Officials state that a similar regulation in America operates against British athletes, and retaliation is long overdue.
» It is noteworthy that there is no such ban at Oxford.
