TRAP SHOOTING.

Christchurch Gun Club’* Championship. The Christchurch Gun Club held the third and final club championship shoot at Sockburn on Saturday afternoon. There was a fair Attendance and favourable weather. Conditions for the championship were seventeen birds off 26ydS. . The championship event, In which thirteen shooters competed, was won by I. G. Watkins, who Shot the possible, with John Brightling runner-up with sixteen birds. The winner received a gold and diamond medal presented by the club and will hold the George Rutherford Cup for one year. The ruu* ner-up received a trophy order valued At one guinea. A. N. Turner, who scored the highest aggregate points covering the three matches of the season, received a gold medal presented by the club and will hold the cup donated by Messrs AShby, Bergh and Company for one year. In an Optional sweep in conjunction with the championship, Watkins took first prise-money and H. M. Wright, A. N. Turner, R. S. Taylor and P. Chamberlain divided second and third prizemoney.
