DRUNKEN DRIVERS.
S.M. Says He Will Send Them to Gaol. Per Prei Association. INVERCARGILL, August 28. An unemployed married man with five children was before the Court to-day charged with driving a motorcar while intoxicated. In placing accused on probation for two 3'ears and cancelling his license, the Magistrate (Mr Levvey) expressed the opinion that the only remedy was imprisonment. He issued a warning that, no matter what the circumstances, if people chose to drive vehicles while in a state of intoxication the Court would give no option of a fine.
