Rugby Disharmony.

Dear Sir,—As a regular reader of your paper (while in Christchurch seven monthsof the year) I trust you will allow* me a few lines to express what I honestly feel to be the last straw. Having read many letters, etc., on the hospitality extended to the Southlanders on their visit to the Garden City to contest the Ranfurlv Shield, I cannot understand the Rugby Union’s action in making the usual donation to the Southland Pipe Band for services rendered at the match. Surely this is carrying appreciation too far. If accepted by them, I, like many others, -will be more disappointed than at present.— I am, etc., TIN WHISTLER. Dunedin.
