BUILDING FIGURES.
Of the total of 341 applications now made in Christchurch for the Unemployment Board’s building subsidy, 203 have been approved and 20 rejected. Most of the recent works approved relate to the building of houses, alterations and additions, etc. The value of the work it is proposed to put in hand is £268,739. and the wages cost on that sum is estimated at £95,452.
