ROUND THE DANCES.

The Caledonian Assembly will hold a Grand National carnival dange this evening- and will specially feature a Grand National cash Monte Carlo. Balloons, streamers and hats will be distribute. Bradford's new orchestra will provide the music. A dance will he held in the assembly hall of St John Ambulance headquarters. Peterborough Street, on Thursday, August 10, by the Linwood Rover At the Caledonian Hall on Monday evening a grand mid-winter old-time ball will be held from eight till 2 a.m. Proceedings will open with the Grand March. The Kvans-Campbell band will provide the music and Mrs Creagh’s Rand will provide the supper extras. Balloons, hats, streamers and snowballs will be distributed and the usual lucky snot and Monte Carlo dances will take place. Messrs H. Hobbs and W. Hall will be M.C.’s and the gallery will be open for spectators. At the "Dorothy Hall to-night the last heat of the £lO cash one-step Monte Carlo will take place. The EvansCampbell hand will provide the music and Mr W. Hall will be M.C. The Returned Soldiers' weekly dance will he held in the Jellicoe Hall on Mondnv evening. Prizes will be given for the Monte Carlo and the lucky spot. Mr Bert Avres’s dance orchestra will provide the music. Invitations are out for the annual dance of the Christchurch Telenlione Exchange, to be held at the Winter Garden on August 31. Considerable interest is being taken in the Grand Cabaret which is to he held, under Jewish auspices, at the Winter Garden on Monday evening next. Tickets are available from committee members and the honorary secretary, Mr L. Bierman, Gloucester Street. Past friends and members of the R.N.V.R. are reminded that a dance will he held at Headquarters, on W-d-a Ducky Spot. Monte Carlo and Statue dance will he held. Sinbad’s Dance Orchestra will supply the music. The decision of the staffs of the City Cash Meat Company to hold their first annual dance has aroused ooiisiderabh interest among their friends, and the com mittee has arrangements well in hand for the dance, which will he held at Frascati on August It Tickets are now available.
