The old schoolroom at St Luke's Church, which has served the parish for more than sixty years, will shortly be demolished to make room for a new brick hall. The old wooden schoolroom has been in its time a day school, Sunday school, concert hall, gymnasium and club hall. As the building will probably be handed over to the wreckers on August 14, a break-up social will be held from 7.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. on August 12.
