DANCE AT LYTTELTON.
Trophies Presented to Women Swimmers. One of the social gathering!? which is looked forward to each year in the port is the Lyttelton Ladies’ Swimming Club’s annual da.ice, and its popularity was again proved on Saturday evening when the Excelsior Hall was crowded with dancers. The Herdman-Fisk Orchestra supplied the music. The trophies won during the season were presented by the Mayor (Mr \V. T. Lester) as follows:—Senior championship, cup presented by Mrs Colin Cook, Miss Jessie Gilray; junior championship, cup presented by Miss Mary Crawford, Miss Ruth Morris; cup presented by Mrs J. D. Bundy for member scoring most points. Miss Ruth Madden, 22 points; Miss Mary Pitcalthly, first 50yds, second 25yds, first dive; Miss Joan Brown, first 25yds, second 50yds; Miss Ruth Madden, first 25yds and relay race; Miss Betty Weastell, first 25yds, nrst relay race; Miss Mawa Atkinson, first novelty race, second 25yds; Miss Ruth Morris, first. 50yds, runner-up for senior championship; Miss Irene Brassell, first 25yds; Miss Jessie.
