PERSONAL ITEMS.

Mrs T. Renwiek, Dumgree, Marlborough, is visiting Christchurch. Miss Jean Griffiths, Cashmere Hills, arrived in Timaru on Friday. Miss Nancy Hume, Durham Street, has returned from a visit to the North Island. Mrs C. W. Parker and Miss Leila Parker, who have been visiting Christchurch, have returned to Blenheim. Miss Eleanor Wright, Christchurch, who has been the guest of Miss Annie Watkins, Lincoln, has returned home. Miss Eileen Dailey, who was the guest of Mrs Gordon Lawson, Timaru, has left for Christchurch. Mrs W. Elmslie. Christchurch, will leave for Timaru shortly and will stay at " Hazelmere,” Orari. Mrs James Grant, Gray’s Hills, returned home on Saturday after a short visit to Christchurch. Miss Nancy Gibson, Fendalton, has returned to town from paying a visit to friends in North Canterbury. Miss Ann Ensor, “ Rakahuri,” Rangiora. who has been staying with Miss Meta Nixon, Fendalton, returned home yesterday. Mrs Joseph Holm, Dunedin, who has been staying with her sister, Miss Mina Ward, Manchester Street, will return home to-morrow. Miss Rona Williams has been appointed temporary assistant at St Margaret’s College in the place vacated by Miss Stella Purchas. Miss Dossie Sadlier, daughter of the Bishop of Nelson, is now in Persia, working as a nurse in Kerman Hospital. Mr and Mrs A. L. Cropp, Gloucester Street, will leave Christchurch late this month on a three months’ trip to America. The>* will join the Aorangi at Auckland on July 27. Mr and Mrs George Cooper, Invercargill, will arrive in Christchurch on Thursday and will make their home here. Mrs Cooper has had many farewell parties given in her honour during the last few weeks. Miss M. Woods, who has been on furlough from the Church of England Mission, China, will return to China next month, being due there in September. Miss Stella Purchas, who has been on the staff of St Margaret’s College for some months since her return from the Melbourne Missionary College, will accompany her and begin her o\V'n career as a missionary.
