CROSSING FATALITY.
“ Warning Devices Must Have Been Visible.” Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 3. A formal verdict was returned to-day at the inquest on four persons killed in the Porirua crossing tragedy on May 21. The Coroner (Mr Gilbertson) said that it was impossible for the driver of the engine to have avoided the accident and he was in no wise blameable. The flashlights and other warning devices must have been clearly visible to the driver of the car.
